The Aphasie Association was founded in 2007 by Zsuzsanna Dallos, who lived with aphasia too. Aphasia impairs a person’s ability to process language because of damage to specific brain regions. The Association is a permanent member of the Hungarian National Disability Council and Association Internationale Aphasie (AIA), represents the interests of people with aphasia in Hungary, focuses on supporting them and their families by the following therapies: speech therapy, neuropsychology, mental healthcare, melodic intonation therapy. The organisation also takes part in conferences, carries out professional and advocacy activities and counseling. Since 2007, the Association had more than 33 successful national and international (Norway Grants, EFOP – Infocommunication based therapy for people living with aphasia) projects.
